In August we sent you an Alert that the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration had announced plans to reduce the 2019 annual Unified Carrier Registration fees, but because the fees have not been finalized, the FMCSA has delayed the start of the 2019 UCR registration period indefinitely.
Once the fees, which are likely going to be to $63 for carriers with one or two trucks and $187 for carriers with three to five trucks, are finalized and published, a three-month registration period will begin. If carriers visit the UCR 2019 registration website now, they will see a notice that “[T]he 2019 registration year is not currently open as UCR fees have not yet been approved by FMCSA.” Carriers should wait to submit any payment until the fees have been finalized, as payments made in advance of that time will be returned.
We will continue to keep you updated as the FMCSA provides additional fee and registration period information. If you have any questions, please contact your Customer Success Manager or your legal counsel.
