Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCAS) Extends Guidance On Random Testing Compliance From June 30, 2020 To End Of 2020

As previously blogged on March 31, 2020 at https://fadv.com/blog/dot-and-fmcsa-employer-alert-re-testing-in-covid-19/, the FMCSA issued guidance on drug and alcohol testing related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
On July 6, 2020, FMCSA issued additional guidance to employers regarding 49 CFR Part 382, random drug and alcohol testing impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The NOTICE OF ENFORCEMENT DISCRETION DETERMINATION: RANDOM CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE AND ALCOHOL TESTING applies to random testing for the remainder of calendar year 2020. The earlier FMCSA guidance to employers on Part 382 compliance impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic expired June 30, 2020.
