| Q. |
Why is First Advantage implementing an employee suggestion program? |
| A. |
In a 2008 Town Hall call with CEO Anand Nallathambi, an employee inquired about First Advantage implementing an employee suggestion program. After researching this suggestion, our executive management team realized that so many of our associates in the field had great ideas but no formal channel to submit them to be effectively heard from a corporate perspective. Therefore, First Advantage is launching ESP to give all associates a voice for their ideas that can contribute to making First Advantage and its subsidiaries stronger and more competitive. |
| Q. |
I have a suggestion that will improve my job productivity as well as other people in my department's productivity. Since the idea is related to my job, would it be eligible for the program? |
| A. |
Most likely your idea would be eligible as long as your job description does not include responsibilities for making improvements to your workflow or processes. Be sure to review the Program Rules and Suggestion Eligibility pages on this site to make sure all criteria are met before submitting your idea. |
| Q. |
I am a member of the Corporate IT team and have a suggestion for integrating the information systems of several business units. Since the idea is related to my job, would it be eligible? |
| A. |
Eligibility of an idea is determined by your personal job description, not the function of your department. If your job description does not include responsibilities for identifying opportunities for business unit systems integration, then your idea would be eligible. If your responsibilities include such efforts, then your idea would be ineligible for the program but should be taken to your management team for consideration for implementation. Although ineligible, you still have the opportunity to make efficiency improvements to better our company and gain you recognition among your peers. |
| Q. |
I submitted a security suggestion to the Guardian Award program coordinated by the Security Risk Management(SRM) department. Is my idea also eligible for the ESP program? |
| A. |
Suggestions for enhancing corporate security and/or privacy should continue to be submitted for consideration for the Guardian Award as this program is especially designed to address these critical topics. If there is a security and/or privacy suggestion made that SRM feels potentially merits additional recognition, SRM management reserves the right to submit it for consideration in the ESP program. If this occurs, the suggesting employee(s) will be notified. For security and/or privacy suggestions, visit https://captadv.FADV.com/ or send an e-mail to SecurityRiskMgt@FADV.com for more information on the Guardian Award program. |
| Q. |
Once I submit an idea, how long before I know if the company is going to implement my suggestion or not? |
| A. |
The ESP Review Committee meets once a month to review new submissions received since the last meeting and to revisit previously submitted ideas that were being researched to determine a decision. Depending on the scope and complexity of the suggestion and the number of suggestions under review, the committee's decision to implement can be made in the initial review meeting or up to four months later. The committee's goal is to fully review and determine an implementation status on a given submission as soon as possible but within four months from their initial review. |
| Q. |
Why are the awards for ideas not based on actual savings or revenues generated? |
| A. |
It can be most difficult to measure actual savings or revenues generated by a suggestion – not to mention, such calculations would occur after implementation is completed, requiring a lengthy time period between idea submission and award. On top of that, some suggestions may result in intangible benefits that would be nearly impossible to quantify. For these reasons, the ESP award tiers have been designed to reward associates on the front end, based on the merits of the suggestions and the Review Committee's research. |
| Q. |
Why do submitted ideas involving intellectual property become the property of First Advantage? |
| A. |
Per the Employee Innovations section of First Advantage Corporation's Code of Conduct, First Advantage owns any and all the intellectual property created by employees and officers of the company during their term of employment and relating in any way to the employee's or officer's work or the businesses of First Advantage. Employees and officers are expected to execute all documents necessary to assist First Advantage in securing rights to any and all intellectual property. |
